The following information has been received this morning (19th October) from Bedford Borough Council.
Following a flooding issue at the contractor’s asphalt plant overnight please be aware that High Street Turvey remains closed this morning between the river bridge and Carlton Road. It is not safe to open the road currently and the contractor is on-site with fresh asphalt being laid imminently. It is likely to be several hours before the road can be fully re-opened in both directions.
Note that access to the polling station at the Village Hall is not affected from the easterly direction but anyone travelling towards Bedford from the Northampton direction will need to follow the diversion route until the road can be safely re-opened.
